Support Lower School's Initiative for an On-Campus Aquaponic Farm
Through an innovative collaboration with the Marine Life initiative's aquaponics experts, Grandview's Lower School is excited to embark on a pioneering on-campus project that combines aquaponics and hydroponics farming techniques. By growing farm-fresh lettuce and herbs onsite for our lunch service, students are aiming to not only reduce their carbon footprint but also elevate the dining experience with additional delicious, sustainably-produced food.

We're thrilled to announce that, thanks to a generous $500 grant from Earth Force, we'll be incorporating aquaponics fish tanks powered by grow lights into several Lower School classrooms! These hands-on, interactive additions will allow students to witness the wonders of the aquaponics cycle as they nurture and harvest their very own microgreens.

In the Great Room, students would like to build a cutting-edge hydroponic growing shelf system that has the potential to cultivate a bountiful array of lettuces, herbs, and microgreens. Moreover, they would like Grandview?s gazebo garden to become home to an assortment of vegetables, including savory herbs, zesty peppers, nutritious green beans, and juicy grape tomatoes. By undertaking these green initiatives, Grandview students will continue to cultivate a sustainable and climate-conscious school environment while reducing their carbon footprint for generations to come.
